In terms of mechanics and gameplay, it doesn’t get any simpler than Haunted House. Players are presented with a slot configuration of three reels and three rows. To win, all you need to do is land three identical symbols on one of the 5 Haunted House paylines. When I play Haunted House slot for free, the first thing I do to do is select the bet size. Because there are 5 payline, your total bet amount will be 5 times the bet per payline. However, landing a single Garlic Clove is worth 5X the bet while two cloves wins 25X.

The only other feature that I had access to was Autoplay. To use it, simply hover over the Autoplay button below the third reel. You can then choose to have the machine automatically spin 10, 25, 50, or 99 times. Unfortunately, you cannot set parameters such as stopping after a big win or after losing a certain amount.

I should stress the fact that this game is very basic and does not offer the fun features that make other modern slots so exciting. Those who enjoy such things as Wilds, Scatters, free spins, and expanding reels will likely become bored in short time.

It’s important to understand that payouts are not based on your total bet. Rather, they are calculated using the bet size on the payline. You can bet between 0.01 coins and 10 coins per payline. Because there are 5 paylines, the total bet is five times that amount. You need to land three Garlic Cloves on the fifth payline to earn the top prize of 1,800X. So, if you wagered the minimum 0.01 coins, then you would win 18 coins. If you bet the 10-coin max, then you would win the top prize of 18,000 coins.

With the Haunted House volatility rated high, players can anticipate longer cold streaks between wins. The Haunted House RTP is 96.71% which means you can expect an average return of 96.71 coins for every 100 coins you spend. Of course, this is merely an average calculated over tens of thousands of spins. It is not a guarantee.

My First 100 Spins on the Free Haunted House Slot

I entered Playtech’s Haunted House with 1,000 free credits. Being brave, I established a 2-coin bet size for each of the five paylines which meant 10 coins per spin. Not landing a single win over the first dozen spins was indeed scary. While I managed to chalk up a lucky 13 wins between then and my 50th spin, most of them were small, never exceeding 20 coins.
