Brazil Blocks more than 66,000 Illegal iGaming Domains and Issues $3.5M in Fine

Brazilian authorities have significantly stepped up efforts to remove unlicensed iGaming websites from the local market. Between January 2025 and September 2, 2026, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) identified and blocked 66,400 domains linked to operators without the required authorization.

The enforcement campaign has also targeted the promotion of unlicensed gambling services online. From January 2025 through August 2026, authorities removed 1,511 profiles used to advertise unauthorized operators. The figure includes 565 removals during 2025 and another 946 in the first eight months of 2026.

The crackdown has not been limited to websites and social media accounts. Between March and August 2026, 574 applications connected with unauthorized gambling services were also removed. June and July saw the largest number of app removals, with 44 taken down in June and 244 in July.

Well-known Casino Brands Found Among Blocked Domains

The list of domains identified by Brazilian authorities includes websites associated with a number of internationally recognized casino brands. Among them are Mostbet, Paripesa, 20bet, 23bet, BC.Game, Bizzo, Boomerang Bet, Verde Casino, PariMatch, NetBet, 1xBet, BetWay, 1Win and Roobet, along with other brands.

The presence of recognizable names on the list highlights the scale of Brazil's current enforcement campaign. The authorities are not only targeting smaller or lesser-known websites but are also identifying domains connected with brands that have an established presence in international iGaming markets.

SPA Continues Administrative Enforcement

The SPA has also been pursuing violations through administrative proceedings. Since January 2025, the regulator has processed or closed 103 cases related to breaches of Brazil's gambling rules. Of these cases, 68 have already been reviewed. Fifty-six proceedings have been concluded at the administrative level, while another 12 remain under appeal.

The decisions have resulted in 42 warnings and 20 financial penalties. One further case resulted in a fine combined with a suspension of activities. Overall, the financial penalties reached 18 million Brazilian reais, equivalent to around $3.5 million.

The figures show that Brazil's regulatory efforts now cover several areas at once, from domain blocking and app removals to action against social media promotion and formal administrative proceedings. With thousands of unauthorized domains already taken down, the campaign represents one of the country's largest efforts to limit access to unlicensed online gambling services.

Brazil is not alone in stepping up action against unauthorized gambling sites. Chile has faced a similar challenge, with authorities blocking 42 websites while operators continue to find ways to return under new domains. Taken together, the developments in both countries suggest that tougher action against the unregulated online gambling market is becoming a growing trend across Latin America.
