Las Vegas’ South Point Casino will stage a special celebrity blackjack tournament next month, and there will be a starring role for Brendan Gaughan.

Indeed, Gaughan, an ex-NASCAR driver, will host the event on October 12, and all donations made will go towards local charities for children.

South Point’s regular casino players will get the chance to rub shoulders and team up with some of the finest NASCAR drivers.

Moreover, the event coincides with the South Point 400 race, which takes place over the weekend, making it an extra special weekend for the Vegas community.

The NASCAR drivers participating in the $1,200 team buy-in event include Kevin Harvick, Daniel Hemric, Rusty Wallace, and Rick Allen; however, more names are expected to be added to the illustrious line-up over the coming weeks.

Regarding the event schedule, the reception and registration begin at 4 p.m. before the tournament play ends at 5 p.m. There will be an awards ceremony to wrap things up at 7 p.m. Guests will then leave and walk away with a goodie bag.

A team of three is required to enter, and the cash prizes are as follows:

    • 1st place – $5,000
    • 2nd place – $3,000
    • 3rd place – $2,000

This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for South Point Casino’s patrons, and among the other prizes includes a dinner for two for those who finish in fourth and fifth, respectively, and a commemorative jacket from the event.

No individual sign-ups are allowed, but Gaughan will get the honour of dealing the final hand of the evening.

Regarding the format, there will be 32 teams of three players and three rounds of 20 hands. Each spot at the table will be awarded $5,000 in chips at the start of each session.

There will be no maximum bet amount, but the minimum bet per round will be $100. Also, no side bets will be allowed.
