MGM Resorts Responds to Claims Bruno Mars Owes It $50 Million
MGM Resorts has firmly denied rumors that Bruno Mars owes the company $50 million in gambling debts, reaffirming their strong partnership and praising the performer’s contribution to Las Vegas entertainment.
MGM Resorts emphatically asserts that its bond with Bruno Mars thrives on mutual respect and admiration, dismissing any insinuation to the contrary as unfounded speculation. The statement follows reports that the musician owes the casino operator $50 million in unpaid gambling debts.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company vehemently refuted media claims alleging that Bruno Mars, the headliner at Park MGM, had amassed significant gambling debts.
MGM Resorts International expressed pride in its partnership with Bruno Mars, calling him a “globally renowned performer celebrated for his electrifying stage presence.”
The company highlighted Mars’ major contributions to Las Vegas entertainment, from his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio.
MGM affirmed that Mars owes no debt and that both parties remain committed to delivering “unforgettable experiences for guests.”
According to media reports, Mars’ continued residency at Dolby Live was allegedly meant to offset debts, with claims suggesting he earns $1.5 million per night — or about $60 million annually after taxes.
Even if accurate, the report’s figures would still leave a gap of at least $10 million compared to his supposed debt.
Sources close to Mars called these allegations “nonsense.”
Mars primarily performs at Aria and Bellagio, not Park MGM.
Mars’ Dolby Live residency, which began in December 2016, has been extended multiple times. In 2018, the artist introduced a “pouch-only” phone policy to preserve the live experience.
Rumors about his gambling habits have long circulated in Las Vegas but remain unverified.
The recent NewsNation report reignited speculation but was swiftly refuted by MGM.
A rumored rift between Mars and Anderson .Paak, his Silk Sonic collaborator, was also mentioned, though both have since reconciled.
Despite rumors of upcoming Silk Sonic shows at Dolby Live in May, these are not listed on the venue’s schedule. A spokesperson confirmed that no performances by Silk Sonic are currently planned at Park MGM.
