Italy’s ADM blocks 190 new affiliate and offshore operator domains

A whopping 190 new web addresses were affected by the regulator’s rigorous measures, raising the tally of blocked resources to over 12,000. According to ADM, barred websites aren’t authorised under national legislation to offer games or betting services to Italians. 

ADM ordered Italian internet service providers to block access to the newly identified domains. The block must be implemented by 20 August 2026.

Industry experts see fighting unlicensed online gambling in Italy as part of a broader government initiative to protect players from unregulated operators and unsafe gambling practices.

How It Actually Works

The block affected domains operated by numerous gambling companies, including TrueLuck, Stanleybet, PlayGlobal, SlotRush, BitKingz, SpinoRhino, Rabona, EvoSpin, and SlotLair.

Visitors trying to open one of the blocked domains are automatically sent to an ADM landing page. The page informs them that the operator is not authorised to provide gambling services in Italy.

The legal basis for the measure is Article 102 of Decree-Law No. 104/2020, later converted into Law No. 126/2020 with amendments. Under this provision, ADM is empowered to intervene against websites that provide or promote gambling services without complying with Italian regulations. Once the measure is published on the Agency’s official website, internet service providers are deemed formally notified and required to implement the relevant blocking measures.

The measure goes beyond blocking unlicensed gambling platforms. ADM pledges to protect players from the risks associated with unauthorised operators, where the protections required within Italy’s regulated market may not apply. Users may have less assurance around payment security, personal data protection and responsible gambling measures when using such sites.

Where ADM is Going with This

ADM continues to monitor and regulate developments in the iGaming sector. On September 10, Italy will launch a central online portal for gambling disputes, helping distinguish authorised gambling operators from those operating outside the country’s licensing system.
