Stake has gone live in Denmark after being granted a five-year permit to run online casino and sports wagering services in the country. The approval opens the door to the Nordic region for the first time and adds another regulated European market to the company’s map.

Denmark has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most carefully monitored online gambling jurisdictions. Gaining the green light there shows that Stake is deliberately targeting countries where clear rules, oversight and accountability are part of everyday business.

Danish Launch Set for March 1

The company confirmed that Danish customers will access its services through Stake.dk. The rollout is scheduled for March 1, 2026.

Stake Denmark will establish its headquarters at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen — the country’s national football arena and home ground of FC Copenhagen. The choice of location underlines the brand’s intention to build a visible local presence rather than operate remotely.

Leadership Highlights Competitive Landscape

Peter Eugen Clausen, Managing Director of Stake Denmark, described the approval as a major milestone for the company’s regional ambitions.

He noted that Denmark’s market stands out for its strong oversight and competitive environment, adding that this makes it an attractive destination for international operators. According to Clausen, Danish players can expect a high-quality experience supported by global expertise while still tailored to local expectations.

Clausen previously shared that the five-year authorization represents an important step in the company’s broader strategy of entering fully regulated territories.

Northern Europe Seen as Strategic Priority

Brais Pena, Chief Strategy Officer at Easygo — the technology group behind Stake — said Denmark provides a gateway into Northern Europe. He characterized the country as one of the continent’s most established and valuable online gambling markets.

Pena noted that moving into well-regulated countries adds weight to the company’s presence abroad and fits into its broader plans for steady expansion over the years ahead.

Focus on Compliance and Responsible Gaming

Stake started out in 2017 and has picked up pace year after year, driven by its tech approach and a varied line-up of casino and sports services. As it moves into Denmark, the company stresses that customer protection is woven into its everyday work rather than treated as an afterthought.

The operator said it will provide tools designed to help customers manage their activity and maintain control, aligning with Denmark’s strict consumer protection standards.

With its Nordic launch underway, Stake adds another regulated jurisdiction to its expanding European portfolio, positioning itself for further growth in tightly supervised markets.

Stake’s launch also comes as Denmark prepares to tighten its gambling advertising rules from 2027. The planned changes are expected to further strengthen consumer safeguards and reshape how operators promote their services, adding another layer of compliance for companies entering the market.
