Wazdan breaks ground in Slovenia

Wazdan has entered Slovenia, marking its first step into the country’s online casino market. The move signals fresh ambition — and careful timing — as the supplier carries momentum from 2025.

A first entry through a local leader

The company has signed a partnership with Casinò Portorož and its online casino, casino.si. According to company statements, the agreement expands content while strengthening Wazdan’s European footprint. Casino.si stands as Slovenia’s only licensed online casino — a detail that shapes the deal’s importance.

This first entry appears measured rather than aggressive. Slovenia is a smaller market, yet regulation provides legal clarity and long-term trust. Hence, Wazdan gains access while limiting early operational risk.

The partnership also supports Casinò Portorož’s broader online strategy. Its digital casino launched recently, making content depth an immediate priority. Wazdan’s arrival helps fill that gap during a critical early phase.

Games arrive in careful stages

The initial rollout brings around 15 Wazdan titles to Slovenian players. Additional games may follow as performance data and approvals are reviewed. The first wave focuses on familiar titles with established demand.

Players can already access a mix of well-known releases, including:

  • Power of Sun: Svarog

  • 12 Bells

  • 9 Coins Grand Gold

  • Hot Slot: Matter Jackpot Joker

This approach reduces uncertainty for both companies. Established games offer predictable engagement and steady early returns. It also gives casino.si space to observe player behavior before expanding further.

Strategic value for both companies

For Casinò Portorož, the agreement supports a defining moment. The company aims to build trust as it grows its regulated online casino presence. Strong supplier partnerships help reinforce that message.

Ksenija Bezek, Head of Online Operations, welcomed the cooperation publicly. She described the launch as a landmark step for the operator. According to Bezek, Wazdan’s games strengthen the casino’s early offering.

From Wazdan’s side, the deal provides controlled exposure. Working with a licensed operator limits regulatory friction. It also places the supplier in front of a new, verified user base.

Part of a broader expansion plan

The Slovenian entry fits into Wazdan’s wider push across regulated markets. The company opened 2026 with the release of Mighty Wild: Gorilla. In December, it also expanded in the United States through Caesars in West Virginia.

These moves suggest a consistent pattern — regulation first, speed second. Radka Bacheva, Head of Sales and Business Development, highlighted this focus. She noted that casino.si offers a strong route into a new audience.

Beyond Slovenia, Wazdan appears committed to steady regional growth. The risks remain, yet the strategy looks deliberate. If early results meet expectations, this opening move could support deeper European expansion.
