A careful expansion plan

Yggdrasil confirmed Lakka Studios as the twentieth studio in its YGG Masters programme. The move supports a long-term plan based on control rather than speed. According to company statements, the supplier aims to grow without weakening standards.

Over time, Yggdrasil has added studios one at a time — a method that lowers risk. Each partner joins an established structure already active in regulated markets. This approach appears designed to protect trust and consistency. Growth continues, but oversight remains central.

How the deal works

Under the agreement, Lakka Studios will develop and release games through Yggdrasil’s casino network. The studio will also use Yggdrasil’s Game in a Box system — covering design, testing, and regulatory approval.

Yggdrasil says this structure reduces delays linked to compliance. Hence, studios can focus more on gameplay and visuals. The setup also supports entry into new licensed regions. The YGG Masters model follows a clear structure:

  • Studios keep creative control

  • Yggdrasil manages regulation and approvals

  • Games launch across licensed casinos

A Nordic style joins the range

Lakka Studios focuses on light-hearted games with simple mechanics. Its visual style reflects Nordic design — clean layouts and friendly themes. Such features often appeal to a wide group of players.

Yggdrasil said the studio fits well within its existing range. Beyond style, the supplier values steady delivery schedules. Smaller studios often meet those needs more easily. This deal adds variety without changing technical rules.

Statements from both sides

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, welcomed Lakka Studios to the programme. She said the studio’s Nordic identity strengthens the wider network. Her comments suggest careful planning rather than bold change.

A spokesperson for Lakka Studios called the deal an important step forward. They said Yggdrasil’s support could help bring ideas to market sooner. Nevertheless, the studio keeps full control over game design.

Part of a wider business move

The Lakka Studios agreement follows other recent additions. In November 2025, Yggdrasil added Suits & Royals, a studio focused on classic slot styles. The supplier has also signed new casino distribution deals across Europe.

Together, these steps show steady expansion — not rapid growth. Yggdrasil appears focused on trust, regulation, and long-term results. Subsequently, the YGG Masters programme remains a key part of its strategy.
