My Summary & Rating of Treasures of Aztec
Treasures of Aztec stands out as one of PG Soft’s strongest releases, combining cascading reels, increasing multipliers, and the signature Wilds-on-the-Way feature. With a 96.71% RTP and medium volatility, it offers balanced gameplay but still holds massive potential — especially during Free Spins, where consecutive cascades can explode into huge wins.
In my first 100+ spins, the base game proved surprisingly engaging thanks to evolving frames and frequent cascades. Free Spins appeared only after around 120 spins, so triggering the bonus isn’t easy. The bonus round itself paid modestly, while most of my profit came from the base game’s dynamic features.
Overall, this slot shines over long sessions: steady action, exciting symbol evolution, and an exceptional 100,000× max win potential. If you enjoy cascading mechanics with creative Wild transformations, Treasures of Aztec is absolutely worth playing.
Massive 100,000× max win potential — among the highest in PG Soft’s library.
Increasing multipliers during Free Spins can lead to explosive payouts.
2,025–32,400 ways to win ensure high hit frequency (29%).
Smooth cascading system with immersive Aztec visuals and sound design.
Medium volatility may feel too balanced for high-risk players.
No separate bonus mini-games beyond Free Spins.
High potential is hard to realize without consecutive cascades.
According to my test and analyze I give a rating of 97 rating out of 100.

Gameplay and Mechanics
Treasures of Aztec is one of the most famous slots from PG Soft, which has earned its popularity for good reason.
The slot works on a cascade system — each win causes the symbols to explode and new ones to fall from above, which can create a chain reaction and multipliers.
Since the slot is cascading, there are no paylines here, and it tends to have numerous ways to win. There are between 2,025 and 32,400 ways to win, depending on how many symbols appear on each reel. Wins are formed in the classic way — from left to right.
The slot stands out for its Wilds-on-the-Way feature, which is the provider's own development. But I will talk about the feature itself in more detail later.
Some symbols on reels 2–5 can occupy 2 to 4 positions. These large symbols can turn into Wilds after winning sequences — this is an almost ingenious mechanic that keeps the game dynamic. From my experience, I can say that the dynamics here almost never slow down, which is rare for slot games.
The betting range varies from casual to high, and the RTP is 96.71% — a solid average with medium volatility, providing an excellent balance between frequent wins and rare big wins. And although high rollers will feel cramped here, the rest of the players can easily find a comfortable bet for themselves.
Symbols
The game’s symbols are built around the Aztec civilization — golden idols, masks, and stone carvings dominate the reels.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols except the Scatter, and appears only on reels 2–5.
The Scatter symbol is your ticket to Free Spins, while framed symbols are key to the Wild transformation system:
Silver Frame — appears randomly on 2–5 reels (excluding Wilds/Scatters).
If part of a win, it transforms into a Gold Frame in the next cascade.
If a Gold Frame symbol wins, it turns into a Wild in the following cascade.
I think that this feature largely preserves the dynamics of the slot. You actually get a Wild from nowhere, because otherwise you would need to be lucky enough to get it. This also applies to the Scatter, by the way.

Features of the Treasures of Aztec
PG Soft is always restrained when it comes to features. They never try to oversaturate the slot, and therefore the player. There are only 3 key features here, and I think that's ideal.
Wilds-on-the-Way — symbols with silver or gold frames evolve through consecutive wins:
Silver → Gold → Wild
This adds powerful chain potential and builds excitement through visual progression.
Multiplier Feature — starts at x1 in the base game. Each consecutive win during cascades increases it by +1. The multiplier resets when no more wins occur.
Free Spins Feature — triggered by 4 Scatter symbols, awarding 10 Free Spins. Each additional Scatter adds +2 spins.
During Free Spins, the starting multiplier is x2, and increases by +2 after each win cascade. Free Spins can be retriggered.
As you can see, PG Soft didn't reinvent the wheel, but simply combined and harmonized already popular features. And as a bonus, they added their own unique feature. That's where the appeal of this slot lies.
Win Potential
Max Win — 100,000× your stake
RTP — 96.71%
Volatility — medium
Ways to Win — 2,025 – 32,400
Hit Frequency — ~29%
Medium volatility ensures balanced gameplay, and the top prize of 100,000x really makes you want to play.
The entire point of the game and its potential lies in the chain of several cascades during free spins, where wild symbols develop in the middle of the sequence — this can turn an ordinary session into a huge win. Although getting free spins here is quite a challenge. During my testing, I was able to do it on about the 120th spin, even though the testing session itself is supposed to last 100 spins.
My First 100 Spins
Here, I started with a balance of 100,000 credits and a bet of $4. As I mentioned above, I hit the Free Spins very late, somewhere around the 120th spin, which is obviously disappointing. However, the game does not lose its charm. The Wilds-on-the-Way feature adds dynamics, and the frame feature makes even the base game quite good and interesting, which is also rare for slots, where the base game is often just a shortened and less impressive version of the bonus round.
After 120 spins, I was up about $100. Although, to be fair, the bonus round itself only brought me $30. I knocked out the remaining $70 through the regular base game thanks to other features, such as framed blocks, which often turned into Wilds.
