FanDuel, one of the biggest sports betting and entertainment platforms owned by Flutter, has completed the acquisition of BeyondPlay, appointing its founder and CEO, Karolina Pelc, as Vice President of the newly integrated entity.

BeyondPlay Set to Boost Player Engagement at FanDuel

BeyondPlay, founded in 2021, provides operators with a jackpot management system enabling them to create unique offers and enhance player engagement. The company has secured licenses in:

  • the United Kingdom,

  • Ontario, and

  • Malta.

FanDuel plans to leverage BeyondPlay’s innovative tools to strengthen its foothold in the competitive US iGaming market.
According to 2024 Q1 statistics:

  • FanDuel ranked as the top online casino brand in the United States,

  • captured 27% of total market revenue, and

  • increased its active player base by 34%, with a 49% revenue rise year-over-year.

In April 2024, FanDuel’s market share stood at 47.6%, far ahead of its closest competitor, DraftKings (36.4%).

Acquisition Timeline

BeyondPlay’s rapid growth and innovative approach quickly drew investor attention. Notable milestones include:

  • February 2023 – Bettor Capital acquired 25% of LeoVegas Group’s stake in BeyondPlay for €1.9 million.

  • April 2023 – BeyondPlay raised €5 million in funding, supported by existing shareholders.

  • February 2024 – FanDuel announced its intention to acquire BeyondPlay for an undisclosed amount.

Following the announcement, Karolina Pelc described the acquisition as a “testament to the hard work and vision” of her team, while FanDuel Managing Director Asaf Noifeld emphasized how the acquisition would enhance the company’s customer experience and strengthen its market dominance.
