When I first launched the Moon Princess 100 slot machine, I must admit that I was a little surprised by its rather unusual style for the slot industry — girls with superpowers.  An elegant but intuitive 5x5 grid with a cascading reel system. And, unfortunately, not so elegant mechanics. If you don’t study the paytable, you might spend half your spins not understanding what’s happening.

Wins are formed when 3 or more identical symbols appear anywhere, and the winning symbols disappear to trigger new cascades.

In general, the essence of the game lies in its cascade mechanics and the trio of princesses — Love, Star, and Storm — each of which has unique abilities. These three mechanics are narratively linked to the heroines, which can be confusing because we usually expect visual elements in a slot to be purely decorative.

Despite the interesting idea of tying mechanics to the heroines, it is done in a slightly complicated and inappropriate way. This spoils the feel of the game and the impression it makes. However, I will discuss my impressions further later.

Symbols

If you’ve played earlier Moon Princess titles, the Moon Princess 100 symbols will feel familiar yet enhanced. The reels feature vibrant, almost anime-style symbols: the three princesses (high-value), plus thematic icons like hearts, stars, and moons (low-value). I must say that the design of the symbols is quite simple and restrained. There is nothing striking about their design. Accordingly, these symbols are not even memorable and can often be confused with each other.

This slot stands out in a rather unusual field — features. Providers don't often experiment with features because they are afraid of scaring players away with something new and unfamiliar. But Play’n Go went against the grain and rolled out a slot with some rather questionable features that are open to debate.

Cascading Reels — every win removes winning symbols, allowing new ones to drop and potentially create chain reactions, boosting your chances for multiple wins per spin. And this feature is the most understandable of all.

Princess Powers — after a sequence of cascades, one of the three princesses activates:

• Love: turns random symbols into Wilds.

• Star: adds Wilds to the grid.

• Storm: clears low-value symbols for higher-win potential.

And here's the controversial point — these forces work randomly. Usually, this is good and very typical for slots, but when it comes to successful or unsuccessful spins, it is different. And here, it's a matter of the whole mechanics. At times, it feels quite unfair: when the Love power would be ideal, Storm is on the field. When I need the Star power, Love is on the field and does not contribute to my gameplay at all. I consider the unpredictability of the feature to be a disadvantage. 

Meter — charged with the Princess symbol wins. If you fill this meter, the Trinity feature will be activated.

Trinity — Love, Star, and Storm perform their superpowers in one free round. Clearing the grid during this feature triggers Free Spins. 

Free Spins Bonus — activated via the Clear the Grid Feature (in other words, a possible consequence of Trinity's feature), this mode starts with 10 spins. Multipliers increase with each cascade (up to 20x), and Extra Wilds or Extra Spins can extend the round up to 100 spins.

However, despite the somewhat unclear mechanics, the Moon Princess 100 slot game still offers a balance of risk and reward.
Max Win — 15,000x your bet. That's a lot, and it balances out the ambiguous features nicely. Here you can see that this is not a weak slot, and that's the idea behind the game.

What this slot has going for it is a cosmic maximum win of 15,000x your bet. This definitely sets the slot apart from the rest. Of course, volatility makes its own adjustments, so you'll have to wait a long time for a big win, so be prepared for that. So, overall, if you just like spinning slots and don't really care what they show, this is a nice slot to play.

Here, each feature is actually a catalyst for another feature, so if you manage to hit one, another will follow. The only advice I can give is: if you decide to play, set the spin speed to maximum by pressing the lightning bolt at the bottom. Otherwise, this slot will just tire you out. 

Play at a bet of $2–$4, spin quickly, and hope that you hit some features, because that's where the more or less good rewards are.

I think you already understand that my overall impression of the game is not very good. I played at a stake of $2. Those 100 spins were quite exhausting. I lost all my coins, never got any Free Spins, and didn’t understand what was happening until mid-game.

I was hoping the visuals, effects, and soundtrack would make up for the confusing gameplay — but they didn’t. The only truly engaging moment came during cascades, when the grid clears and the music builds momentum, growing louder and faster with each chain. Yet, the drive fades just as quickly — once the screen goes still, the soundtrack cuts off, leaving the action flat again. After 100 spins, I was down roughly 100 coins — not a disaster, but enough to feel the sting compared to other slots.
