Plinko Terms

B

Ball/Chip
The ball ( or the Chip) is the object dropped by the player at the start of each round. In physical versions of the game, it is a disc or ball. In digital casino versions, it is rendered as an animated ball or chip. Its path down the board is governed entirely by chance, bouncing off pegs until it reaches the bottom and lands in a payout slot.

C

Clip Point
Clip Point — a specific peg or position on the board where the ball makes a notable deflection that visibly changes its trajectory. The term is sometimes used informally to describe a critical bounce that sends the ball toward a high-value or low-value zone.

D

Drop Point
Drop Point — the position at the top of the Plinko board from which the ball is released. In some versions of the game, players can manually select the drop point, which influences the probable range of landing zones without guaranteeing any specific outcome. In other versions, the drop point is fixed or randomized automatically.

P

Payout Zone
Payout Zone — the row of slots located at the bottom of the Plinko board where the ball ultimately lands. Each slot is assigned a multiplier value, which is applied to the player's original bet to calculate the round's winnings. Slots in the center of the payout zone typically carry lower multipliers, while slots at the far edges carry higher ones — reflecting the lower statistical probability of the ball reaching those positions.
Pegs (Pins)
Pegs (Pins) — small protruding obstacles fixed across the Plinko board in evenly spaced rows. Each time the falling ball makes contact with a peg, it deflects either left or right, creating a random chain of movements. The total number of pegs on the board is determined by the selected number of rows — the more rows, the more pegs, and the more chaotic the ball's descent.
Plinko Board
The Plinko Board is the main playing field in Plinko, a vertical grid structure covered with pegs arranged in a triangular or diamond pattern. The board defines the game's layout and determines how many rows and slots are available. The wider and taller the board, the more unpredictable the ball's path and the more varied the potential payouts.
