My Summary & Rating of Werewolf's Hunt

If I were telling a friend about Werewolf’s Hunt, I’d say it’s a visually impressive but demanding slot. The horror theme, smooth animations, and Avalanche mechanic make it engaging, and the Megaways-style grid with 10,000 paylines gives plenty of win paths.

However, the high volatility is very real: wins don’t land often (around 20% hit rate), and the bonus game can take a long time to trigger. When it does, it’s atmospheric and can pay well, but there aren’t many different features to keep things fresh over very long sessions.

I liked the above-average RTP of 96.75% and the strong win potential up to 10,000x, yet the layout can feel confusing on PC and isn’t very beginner-friendly. Overall, it’s worth playing if you enjoy high-risk slots and can handle dead spins, but it’s not ideal for casual or low-volatility players.

  • Lucrative multiplier symbols boost your wins

  • Avalanche feature for extra spins after every round

  • High RTP compared to the market average

  • High volatility makes it hard to stack big wins

  • Only one bonus round that doesn’t trigger often

  • Inconvenient layout for PC players

According to my test and analyze I give a rating of ⁦90⁩ rating out of ⁦100⁩.

Game Review policy

Werewolf's Hunt by PG Soft is one of the remarkable horror-centered slot games on the market: it provides unique, detailed visuals, smooth animations, and eye-catching reel effects. The slot has 10,000 paylines, which rightfully makes it a Megaways-type game.

Werewolf's Hunt screenshot 1

At first glance, the slot looks like it was primarily designed for mobile: the interface and grid are a bit confusing, and it’s hard to discern the symbols and features up close on PC. The playing area has an uneven structure, marked 4-5-5-5-5-4, indicating that the top and bottom rows are one reel shorter than the center rows.

The Avalanche mechanic is a fitting choice for this game, providing the possibility for consecutive wins. Figuring out the rules isn't hard, though the gameplay can be confusing for beginners.

Players should be wary of the slot’s high volatility. It means that stacking bigger wins or the top reward will take longer than in low- or medium-variance titles. The top win is x10,000, and the bets range between $0.2 and $100. The free Werewolf's Hunt slot also features a special Hold and Win mechanic, where certain symbols get locked in place after a spin and a win, and the grid respins to provide you with more opportunities to land a higher prize.

Symbols and Paylines

The slot’s paytable consists of basic, high-paying, and special symbols, all related to the game's theme in one way or another. The Specials include the Wild, which appears on reels from 2 to 5 only, and the Scatter, which triggers the bonus round. There is also a Multiplier symbol that can bear a value from x2 to x20 and land anywhere on the grid. If you wish to know more details, the table below offers a comprehensive breakdown of all the symbols on the slot’s paytable.

More Than Just the Grid: Slot’s Features & Bonuses

For this Werewolf's Hunt slot review, I’ve analyzed the main features of the slot that diversify the gameplay and make it more exciting. Truth be told, there are not a lot of bonuses present in the game — rather, small features that appear naturally on the grid whenever you spin the reels. The bonus game is far from plain: it works according to the theme of the slot, featuring Moon symbols and werewolf paw prints.

  • Bonus game. To kickstart this bonus round, you have to land at least 4 Scatters on the reels. Only Prize Multiplier, Blue Moon, Red Moon, and Yellow Moon symbols will appear on the reels. You will get three bonus spins at the start, and every new special symbol will reset the counter back to 3. The symbols can also appear in halves, and when the Blue Moon becomes full, it adds x1 to all symbols on the grid. When the Red Moon becomes full, it collects all symbol values on the reels. Finally, when the Yellow Moon becomes full, it doubles the values of 3 randomly chosen symbols. This feature ends when your free spin counter reaches 0.

  • Wild symbol. This special icon depicts a werewolf and appears only on reels 2 to 5. It also substitutes for all regular symbols on the grid.

  • Multiplier symbol. It appears randomly on the reels and awards a value of x2 to x20. Once the spin sequence ends, all multiplier values from the grid are added together to increase your final reward.

Overall, the slot doesn’t offer a wide range of features.

For me, indulging in the bonus game over and over again didn’t feel sufficient, although it brought decent rewards over time.

The Slot’s Real Value: Top Reward of Werewolf’s Hunt

Due to the slot’s high volatility, the hit frequency is slightly lower compared to the games with low or medium variance. Based on my testing, the slot has a hit frequency of around 20%: approximately 1 in 5 spins results in a payout, including Avalanche rounds.

The Werewolf's Hunt RTP is slightly above the market average at 96.75%. This is a nice little addition to the high volatility, which makes it harder to land substantial prizes fast. During the course of the game, I got several payouts that exceeded $50 in the first 100 spins, even while playing at the lowest stakes in the demo mode. This shows that, despite the increased variance, the slot has a stable and reasonable risk-to-reward ratio.
If you want to reach the max win of x10,000, it’s important to weigh how much you are willing to bet between $0.2 and $100 before starting the game. Keep in mind that highly volatile slots are unpredictable. You can kickstart by landing a big win and then fall into an unlucky streak with several dead spins in a row.

Analyzing the First 100 Spins in Werewolf’s Hunt Demo

For my first 100 spins in the Werewolf's Hunt demo slot, I started with 100,000 free credits on my balance and the minimum bet to test the waters. The very first spin awarded a solid 50 coins together with the Avalanche respin. From there, wins appeared steadily over every 4 to 5 rounds. When I increased my bet to 60 credits per round, combos of symbols started landing every 2 to 3 spins on average, which was a solid boost. On around the 20th spin, I managed to land a Big Win of 1,152 coins. Then, 10 spins later, a Mega Win of 5,220 coins, which basically almost restored my balance to the initial amount. While Mega Wins were quite frequent, it took me a long time to trigger the Bonus Game: the 4 Scatters only landed 50 spins after I increased my bet to the maximum. And, while it wasn’t very effective, I still managed to end my run with 100,300 coins on the balance.
